My experience in the boat business
I began my marine career in Annapolis Maryland in 1979, longing to become involved in the marine business I started my employment by learning how to sand bottoms of sailboats and houseboats. After learning the proper techniques of sanding and applying bottom paint I graduated to re-wiring boats that had been sunk or damaged, utilizing my knowledge gained in the U. S. Navy as an Marine Electrician, I re-wired boats and installed electronics to assist the dealer in new boat preparation and delivery of boats to their customers.
During the next few years I found myself gravitating to the sales aspect of the boating industry, so I accepted a sales position with a company that sold Irwin Sailboats and Albin Trawlers which led to my long association with Albin Marine as project manager, National Sales Manager, Manager of the Custom yacht Division, spanning over 20 years while continuing to work in different areas of sales and service, maintaining a service company in Stuart Florida.
I have been involved with several retail dealerships and National Sales Manager for two Manufacturers as well as heading up Albin's Custom yacht division in China. During this time I have been to every major boat show in every state having a show in the water, I have inspected and evaluated trade in boats for over 25 years and have always done it "their" way. Which brings about the reason for our name, Kingsway, because now I do it Kingsway, not their way.
